Vitamin B12 Is a Very Important Nutrient For Vegans and Non-vegans

Vitamin B12 is the only nutritient not present in vegan diet. Defiency of Vitamin B12 can cause everything from Cancer to Osteoporosis and Depression to Neural Tube defects. Vitamin B12 is required for the proper function and development of the brain, nerves, blood cells, and many other parts of the body.

Vitamin B12 is available in meat and milk products. So, it is very important for Vegans to take Vitamin B12 supplement. I don't eat fortified foods regularly, so I make sure to take Vitamin B12 once in 15 days.

Whenever I talk with friends , family and cousins about Vegan diet, I always tell them about the impotance of taking Vitamin B12 supplement. 

According to many reports, nearly 15 % of the population is Vitamin B12 deficient.

Vegetarians and Vegans in Russia

More than a century ago, the concept of "Vegetarian Diet " was banned in Russia. Thanks to one of the greatest writer - Leo Tolstoy , many Russians have embraced vegetarian and vegan diet for the past few decades.

Traditional Russian cuisine is meat-based. Soups, stews, and pancakes contain meat and butter-milk. Today, famous Russian writers are Vegans .Thanks to internet, youtube , online forums, the concept of vegan diet is rapidly growing in Russia. Russians love Indian culture , tradition and food. I guess this is also one of the reasons for growing popularity of vegetarian fare in Russia...

I'm sure in few decades most of the smart Russians will thrive on Vegan Diet!

Millions of Indians love meat, but they don't want to see the suffering and pain of chickens , goats, sheep and pigs.

Thanks to "Mock Meat", Indians are now able to relish mock Chicken 65 and Mock Tandoori Chicken made with wheat protein and soya protein.

Turin Mayor Advocating Vegan Diet

Chiara Appendino - Turin's mayor is urging everyone in Turin to go vegetarian.  Chiara Appendino strongly feels that meat-free and even dairy-free living is good for environment and also the health of the citizens.
